Who We Are

Charlottesville DSA is a local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, the largest socialist organization in the country.

We believe in the inherent equality and worth of all people and work to build a world where power truly resides with the people in public life, in workplaces, and in their homes. We reject all forms of oppression and fight for the collective liberation of all people.

While we engage in political work both inside the electoral system and outside of it, we’re not a political party. Rather, we’re a multi-tendency organization with members whose convictions span the full range of leftist beliefs. We welcome anyone who shares our vision of a better world.
